I've just bought the Avon Calling compilation double CD & it's great to hear all the songs again ,as well as the new ones I hadn't heard before . I think a lot of them still sound as fresh as when they were made . I particullarly enjoyed the Private Dicks' tracks ,as I used to work with Paul & Mark ,guitarist & drummer respectively .It would be interesting to know what they are doing now .

Thanks for this great site. Hope someday all of the Glaxo Babies stuff will be rereleased on CD. THEY WERE THE BEST! Sadly overlooked but now searched for by many, fetching high prices 2nd hand. Nine Nine Months To The Disco is as incomparable like This Heat's first album & Put Me On The Guestlist is a real find for Gang Of Four lovers. Their BBC sessions were a lot re-aired sadly I have never been able to receive those programs.

Milo.

HI I am a freelance professional photographer who has just moved back to bristol after doing my HND, BA(hons) and PQE in photography, design and general media. Although I am a fashion and portrait photographer i am looking to get into band work. I was wondering if you could possibly send any artists my way if they want cheap as chips promotional photographs....either studio based or location. I live in redland and although i work as a fulltime photographer i do have mondays and sundays off if you would like to see my portfolio. Cheers Rach*

Now I'm back with 3 piece rock band, still playing original stuff...(similar to Evanessence but male vox - me!) Could you recommend a decent recording studio to do our first demo (in about 5 years!) I've been on sabbatical in Bath until recently, can't stop playing music damn it! In the blood I guess! Cheers for now! Pete petewaller@blueyonder.co.uk

Simon,

Enjoyed the nostalgia trip, it brought back many memories of wild, crazy and fun times. What a crack it was!!! I'm still gutted that my back was all that was shown on the "Riotous Assembly" poster, piss poor photography i say! When you said to us, "get as many punks as you can down Virgins records - preferably pissed - for a photo shoot" did you seriously expect the masses that turned up? (I was slightly off my trolley that day!)

Sad that Court Martial didn't get more of a mention, they were building up quite a lot of admirers back then(among them being Vice Squad, GBH and Chron Gen (i think!)

Keep up the good work, Banana Man

Nice to fid your site, I bought a number of your records when they came out and played them on a US college station about 20 years ago - was a big fan of the Glaxo Babies and think they've been sadly obscured in history as precursors to folks like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Primus.

I love the Riot City era of punk rock- I am one of the fourtunate 10,000 to have an original "Riotous Assembly" LP... I also own the Court Martial "Gotta Get Out" EP and the Undead "It's Corruption" EP- I have been on a desperate search for the Undead "The Killing Of Reality" LP since I was 17... 10 years now! I wish I had been a little older just so I could have had an easier time picking up the releases of this era of music- It was the first music that ever really spoke to me, and will forever be in the top of my all time favorite generas of music.

I just got the electric Prunes double vinyl. Wow. The quality of the product is fantastic right down to the insert of singles artwork cover and record label. We all remember the Prunes from Easy Rider but their true music was quite different from psychedelic religion playing while guys and gals drop acid in a whore-house, and quite excellent. If you like the Doors, if you like Them, if you like any kind of 60s rock GET THIS ALBUM

I have heard the last track on Find Yourself by AKO. It is magnificent, it is not punk it is not hardcore it is true music with everything coming from the heart. It is 21st century blues. It is 21st century soul. Its called WORK AS ONE, if we dont then................ We started this together, Together were pulling it down, How can you be so proud of the violence all around?

Simon, You need to put an ORDER button on your album pages. I couldn't figure out how to order the album from you. The blue graphic against the dark background is almost impossible to read and until I click on something and it turns white, I don't know what it is! Also in the US we use dollars, so pounds are something we try to shed, and none of us would know how to figure out the exchange! love those snagstons...............j

Hello,

I was really happy to discover a site about Heartbeat Records, and even more when learning it was still in activity.

I discovered your label 5 or 6 years ago when buying second hand copies of the Glaxo Babies LPs. I liked them so much that I began to investigate the other stuff on your label: the Avon calling LP, Art Objects LP, ... So that, now, Heartbeat is one of my favorite label from the end of 70's beginning of 80's

I still have to find some of your release (BTW have you an idea about a place where I could find the transmitters LP ?).

Thanks for your label, Cheers,

Jean.

A really interesting website - and one which I must admit I didn't expect to find!

I remember hearing "She Said Go" by the Private Dicks on Radio 1 aeons ago at the age of 14 - and have never been able to track down a copy! Is it available on CD at all? If you get this e-mail please give me the answer to this question in your own time. My details are as follows:

Richard Lane 46 Streamside Close Edmonton London N9 9XB

Thanks - and all the best to you and Heartbeat Productions.
