Though the labels were inactive, it wasn't long before requests to license tracks and even entire albums were received. This was very flattering, other labels still obviously believed in our material, and this, coupled with ongoing half yearly royalty payments (most Heartbeat & Riot City output being published by our own Heartbeat Music) meant that though no records were being manufactured, Heartbeat was just showing a pulse.

Time could now be spent pursuing other avenues, including my passion for record collecting. Unbeknown to me though this would eventually after eight years, lead me back to square one again! - wanting to make a record.

Frequent visits were made to Bristol independent music shop Revolver, where hours would be spent discussing the merits of 60's psychedelia with fellow cohort Dave Pearce, who in 1992 would end my years of silence with a tape and the words; "Have a listen to this".

On doing just that my reaction was; "Well, I have no idea who it is, but that should be on a single, it's amazing!" - I had never heard anything like it before, though its elements were familiar - he called it rural psychedelia while declaring responsibility, and I agreed! - it was in fact a song called Soaring High, and he was Flying Saucer Attack.
