Heartbeat Productions - A History |
For Heartbeat these were incredible times, scoring the hat trick with its first three releases, and in the same publication - was more a small label could ever dream of - we couldn't afford to wine and dine, so that left the records themselves - they did it on their own - wonderful! Oddly enough no further releases were issued on Trash City, we quit while we were ahead I guess - there was never a real master-plan other that if it "rocks like fuck" lets do it. A Headcase album is planned, as a tribute to a great band - short lived, but proof that you're never too young. They all went their separate ways, though I doubt if it's the last we've heard of them.

| My already declared love of 60's "psych" was painstakingly leading to what would become Heartbeats' most ambitious project so far. A while after the release of the Flying Saucer Attack album a letter arrived from the Swedish Radio Corporation requesting a sample copy for their alternative music programme. We were well aware of what had gone on there during the 60's, particularly regarding the much loved Electric Prunes who had visited and recorded a concert during 1967.

| Armed with the letterhead and the requested sample LP this would be the start of a long, exciting, though very frustrating period, where negotiations were undertaken to try and secure the release of this legendary concert. The band had always been long time favourites with these ears even as far back as my school days, so a chance of actually releasing some of their music was something I just couldn't let go.
